Joining the KLPA is open to all women and costs £5.00 per year.
To join, either print out and fill in the membership form and send it with your five pound subscription to the treasurer:
Anne Elton, 63 Parliament Hill, London NW3 2TB. You can also join in person at the AGM.
Forms can also be found on the notice board in the changing rooms at the Pond.
The KLPA is independent of the City of London and the Hampstead Heath management. It is run on a purely voluntary basis for and by pond users. There are no paid staff. Officers and the committee are elected at the AGM, which is usually held in March.
Our priority is to preserve the pond with its peaceful, natural qualities and to maintain it as a women’s swimming place. Occasionally this means we need to lobby or campaign.
Otherwise, we exist to provide information and encourage more women to enjoy more about the pond. We produce a newsletter about three times a year and organise events for fun like a festive swim at midday on New Year’s Day and a summer outing to a river, lake or seaside. The AGM is usually followed by a short talk to do with the pond or wild swimming and is also a social gathering where everyone enjoys drinks and a pot luck feast.
