NEW EDITION OF "SWIMMING AGAINST THE STREAM"

7/8/2013

A new, updated version of Jean Perraton's  book defending open water swimming is now available from Jon Carpenter Publishing 19 The Green Charlbury,  OX7 3QA.   Tel 01608 819117

Jean was a pioneer in raising this subject and her book helped to create the current revival of  open water swimming by encouraging campaigners and marshalling the arguments  about why we  should be allowed to swim wherever there is swimmable water.  But the book failed to reach a wide readership as it appeared just too soon to  benefit from  the surge of  popular interest it had helped to bring about.   This updated version includes a section tracing the progress and lack of progress since the original.

Jean Perraton is President of the River and Lake Swimming Association and chairs the Cam Valley Forum, a voluntary organisation which seeks to protect and improve the environment of the river Cam.
